Koelnmesse is an international trade fair and exhibition center located in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, that was founded back in 1922. Visitors and exhibitors from all over the world come to Cologne in order to present the latest trends at one of the largest exhibition centers in the world and do business worldwide.
Every year, Koelnmesse organizes and conducts more than 80 trade fairs, over 2,000 conferences, exhibitions, guest and special events in Cologne and is one of the most important markets nowadays. How to get to Koelnmesse
Due to Koelnmesse’s central location, which is conveniently situated for many transport links, visitors can quickly reach the exhibition centre from many European cities both within and outside of Germany by car, train, plane and local public transport.
For the duration of the respective trade fair, all admission tickets and trade fair passes that display the symbol of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS) are valid for free travel on busses, S-Bahns (commuter trains), underground trains, and regional trains within the extended VRS network. They are only valid for travel to and from the Koelnmesse exhibition centre. Not included are Deutsche Bahn trains that are subject to a supplementary charge as for instance IC/EC or ICE.
Getting there by Train (Deutsche Bahn) Cologne “Messe/Deutz” train station - South Entrance of Koelnmesse is at 3 min walk away. Cologne Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) - if your train arrives here, you have 4 ways to get to Koelnmesse from there: 1. Cross the “Hohenzollern” bridge by foot. 2. Cross the Rhine by ferry 3. Lines S6, S11, S12 and S13 to station “Messe/Deutz”. 4. Get a taxi to one of the Entrances
- The distance to Koelnmesse from Cologne-Bonn Airport is approximately 16 km., you can take No.13 suburban railway (Horrem direction) or the Regional Express (Mönchengladbach direction) to the station “Köln Messe/Deutz”, The trip takes around 12 minutes.
The distance from Düsseldorf Airport about 65 km. After leaving customs, follow the signs in the airport to the Sky Train. It will take you to the station “Düsseldorf Flughafen”. From there, take a Regional Express train (Aachen or Koblenz direction) from Platform 4 to the station “Köln Messe/Deutz”,
The distance from Frankfurt am Main Airport - 180km - Frankfurt airport has its own station called “Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbahnhof”, you can take the Inter City Express (ICE) from Platform 7 and it will take you to “Köln Messe/Deutz”.
- Underground Lines 1 and 9: to “Bahnhof Deutz” station (The South Entrance is approx. three minutes walk from the platform at this station).
Underground Lines 3 and 4: to “Koelnmesse” station ( the stop is directly at the East Entrance).
- There are ten highways that lead into Cologne’s beltway, which brings directly to the exhibition center without junctions or traffic lights. Just follow the green signs marked "Koelnmesse”.
- Around the exhibition grounds there are 14,500 parking spaces.
