How to get to Messezentrum Salzburg?
Arriving by public transport The no.1 trolleybus stops right outside the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center at the ‘Messe’ bus stop. During events, there is also a direct trolleybus service to and from the ‘Salzburgarena’ bus stop. The no.7 trolleybus stops right next to the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center at the ‘Bessarabierstrasse’ bus stop. The no.8 trolleybus stops directly at the Salzburg Exhibition & Congress Center and the Salzburgarena and is the fastest way from the centre to the P+R Messe. (Park and Ride Messe).
Free public transport tickets can be obtained for the trolleybus to and from the expo centre for fairs staged by Messezentrum Salzburg GmbH. These free bus tickets can be downloaded from the respective expo website. The ticket is only valid in printed form.
Arriving by rail and by bus Salzburg’s main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) is a key traffic hub for the western half of Austria and is fully integrated into the German Deutsche Bahn rail network. Taxis, public transport options and car hire offices are all available at the station.
Arriving on foot or on a bicycle Messezentrum Salzburg expo centre and the Salzburgarena venue are approximately 30 minutes walk from the old town, a 20-minute walk from the railway station and are easily reached using the comprehensive network of cycle paths. Bicycle stands are available at the venue.
Arriving by air Salzburg Airport W. A. Mozart is approximately 4 km away from Messezentrum Salzburg. There are taxis, public transport options and car hire companies at the airport.
Arriving by car Messezentrum Salzburg and Salzburgarena are both located alongside the A1 motorway. They can both be accessed by leaving the motorway at the exit marked Messe. The route to the venue is clearly signposted in the city and on the motorway.
Please note: Toll road stickers are obligatory on Austrian motorways. Toll road stickers must be purchased and displayed on all Austrian motorways! These self-adhesive stickers can be purchased for 1 year, for 2 months or for 10 days and must be clearly mounted in the prescribed position inside your windscreen. Stickers can be purchased at most Austrian fuel stations.
Arrivals without a TOLL STICKER: From Germany via the German A8 motorway:
Take A8 exit no.115 to Bad Reichenhall and follow the B20 in the direction of Freilassing Follow signs to Salzburg Drive straight across the ‘Salzburg Mitte’ roundabout (2nd exit) in the direction of Salzburg 500m after the roundabout get into the left lane as you come alongside the ENI fuel station Turn left at the lights in the direction of Messezentrum Salzburg (approx. 600 m).
